I agree David. In hypnosis there can be profound alterations of consciousness. The interesting question is how these changes take place, and how we can learn to induce these changes more powerfully and reliably.

I have always thought that a good deal of what takes place in hypnosis can be explained by these principles. The hypnotist as an authority is obvious.
